Free friendship sites. There are many people who for a number of very good reasons decide to increase their social circle. Typically it can be relocating to a new area, or may be circumstances have changed and you just want a change. The internet is one area that's increasingly popular for searching for new friends and there are sites for couples and for singles. Here's two.

2. It's easy to complete you joining details because we feel what really matters here is where you live, not your golf handicap or where you go on holiday. All of that you can, if you so wish, include in your brief profile statement (We enjoy etc etc) but what members look for initally are local friends. The details they are capable of chatting about in the chat room because we don't feel you can categorise a couple with a dozen or so pre-arranged check boxes. It's not necessary and our site proves it!
You may think that ease of joining is a possible source of problems. Well that's where we, as administrators, come in. Every new joiners profile is checked prior to being available to other members. That way you can be be sure that what you see when you join the site is exactly what you signed up for. Existing members who edit their profiles are also checked along with their profile image if they choose to add one. By the way, our experience on the site shows that members who do eventually add a profile photo are much more likely to meet new friends and get the very best from the site.
www.4m8sonly.co.uk is very special in that it's for friendship only, no dating, UK members only. This was simply because when most single people search for friends they are not looking for a penpal 3000 miles away (and living who knows where) but they actually would like to meet and actually do things with their new friends such as shopping, down the pub or whatever. It removes the term'international' and replaces it with 'local'. You want local friends? That's what we do!
